Dan on the Issues
Economic
Development
Alabama needs to build a culture that brings new jobs and industry to our state. That only happens by creating a new business climate. We need tax reform and we need to deregulate Alabama business. If we are the best state to do business in with the best business environment, our state will continue to grow.
Education
We need to provide our children and their teachers with the tools they need to succeed. That only happens if we actually get our tax dollars in the hands of our teachers and into the classrooms. We also need to expand vocational training in our high schools to teach our kids a skill, and expand distance learning to connect our high schools to our universities.
Workforce
Development
We need to improve and educate the Alabama workforce. This can be done by expanding vocational training in our schools. The more skills our workforce has the more growth our state will see. We need to ensure that our workforce is the best prepared in the U.S. We also need to make sure that Alabama's roads are maintained and expanded.
Smaller
Government
There is a tremendous amount of waste in state government. We need to re-prioritize our spending, cut that waste, and continue to eliminate red tape so we can have a smaller, more efficient government.
Second
Amendment
I will always fight to protect the right to keep and bear arms.
I will not support any legislation that infringes on the rights of law abiding citizens to keep and bear arms.
Family
Values
I am pro-life. I will always protect religious liberties. The First Amendment to the Constitution states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” The free exercise includes not participating in activities that violate your religious beliefs.
